Initiation au tisage par motif - Intro to Pattern Weaving (Printemps/Spring 2022)

Learn to build your own frame loom, as well as learning plain weave, variations of twill (i.e. herringbone), twining and soumak techniques. You will go through setting up (warping) a loom as well as several ways to finish a weaving. You will be encouraged to experiment with different yarns and pattern combinations to make functional objects such as coasters, bookmarks or placemats. You will be introduced to contemporary weavers’ practices for inspiration throughout the course. For beginners. Some materials included.
