Le portrait: projets personnels - Portrait: Personal Projects (Printemps/Spring 2024)

One of the oldest art forms, portraiture in art history is a way to record the appearance of someone. Technical skills, mastery of the medium combined with emotional sensory, portraiture goes beyond what meets the eye. This class is designed for those who have worked with portraiture and desire to take it further than just recording a picture that is mimetic. Students can work in drawing or painting (oil and acrylic) and will receive individual attention according to their individual project and specific needs. Working from photos will be encouraged, however a live model will also be available every two weeks, as a source of reference.Prerequisite: one session of portrait studies.
