A comprehensive approach to arts education in an open encouraging environment with a curriculum of over 300 classes, workshops and intensives in drawing, watercolour, oil painting, acrylic, figure studies, jewellery making, pottery, ceramics, photography courses and more. With a hands-on studio focus on skill development and creativity plus lectures and seminars on contemporary art issues, we offer a rich learning experience.
4000 students register annually at the VAC, age 4 to 94, absolute beginner to professional artist. We’re the largest bilingual independent art school in Canada.

Current Exhibition
A respected venue for established and emerging contemporary artists, the McClure Gallery serves the Montreal arts community with ten exhibitions annually. Sharing in VAC’s educational mandate, the gallery promotes public appreciation of art through lectures, tours, invited guest curators and exhibition catalogues.
As host of special events throughout the year, the gallery represents a lively cultural space. Join us for poetry readings, improvisational performances, chamber music and much more. Thanks to Conseil des arts de Montréal for program funding.
