The Annual Student Exhibition is a long-standing VAC tradition which celebrates the talents of students in the Centre’s School of Art. The exhibition offers students registered in the school’s Winter 2023 session the opportunity to exhibit and sell their own work in the Centre’s McClure Gallery. The exhibition showcases the work of over one hundred students and includes a wide variety of mediums, including ceramics, jewellery, textiles, drawing, painting, collage, mixed media and more. Come discover the exciting work of emerging Montreal artists and appreciate the diversity of artistic production emanating from the Centre.

Please join us for an in-person Art Hive with Isabelle Bredt on April 22, in which the artist will guide participants through making mobiles using drawings and magazine cut-outs. Art Hives’ are free art-making workshops open to everyone. No previous art making experience required.

The Visual Arts Centre is a community art centre that operates The McClure gallery, an arts outreach program and a school of art. The Visual Arts Centre’s School of Art is the largest bilingual, independent non-profit art school in Canada, and has been involved in the teaching of art for over 75 years. We offer over 300 courses and have almost 4,000 registrations each year, including absolute beginners, students wishing to develop a portfolio, and professional artists with a desire to hone new skills. Our teaching philosophy balances the development of technical skills with the encouragement of personal creativity. Our courses are open to anyone with a desire to learn.
