For more than 40 years, the Youth Department has offered exciting hands-on learning in the arts. Our programme introduces children and teens to the dynamic and joyful process of creating. In our professional studio environment students learn such artistic fundamentals as drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking; they also experiment with a wide range of art materials, techniques and processes. Working with an exceptional staff of instructors (all practicing artists) students create original artworks that give form to their ideas and feelings about themselves and the world around them. The sense of personal satisfaction they gain from self-expression helps to establish a positive and lasting experience in the world of art. Our Youth Department is also involved in community-based public art projects through the Centre’s Outreach Programme.
You may register successively to each of our four semesters as new projects are introduced each term.
