Étienne Chassé is a young artist from Quebec City where he completed his DEC in Visual Arts at Cégep de Sainte-Foy. During his BAC in Studio Art at Concordia University, he discovered his passion for ceramics, became more involved in his community and developed his own visual identity. His playful practice, a hybrid between the utilitarian and the sculptural, celebrates everyday life’s small joys. He enjoys bringing his creations to life by exploring the materiality specific to ceramics and the versatility that this medium gives it.
It is by always having a foothold between Montreal, Quebec and the Magdalen Islands. He draws his inspiration and the technical skills necessary to push his practice further by working for professional ceramists. Étienne is currently continuing his career at the Maison des Métiers d’Art de Québec to perfect his ceramics mastery and deepen his knowledge.
