Born in Québec City, Annie Descôteaux lives and works in Montréal since 1998. Currently enroled in the MFA program in Sculpture at Concordia University, she has presented her work in solo exhibitions in artists- run centers as well as taking part in collective events throughout Québec, Belgium, France and the USA. Descôteaux has also illustrated newspaper articles published in The New York Times and Bloomberg View. She has been awarded research and creation grants from both Canada and Quebec art counsils. Her inspiration lies in the domestic, the mundane, the everyday objects and the symbolic found in the alimentary.
