In this one-day workshop we will explore the sublime use of gold in painting. From the ancient and magical Japanese application of Rinpa to contemporary uses, we will learn not only how to create your own simulated metallic leaves but how to beautifully incorporate them in your artwork. They will explore mixed media including pencils, collages, markers, coloured pencils, and ink. They will investigate ideas drawn from experiences, backgrounds, histories, cultures and imagination. When the pictures are complete, the group will give them titles. This workshop is open to all, no art experience is necessary.
