In this one day workshop you will learn the fundamentals of certain hand-building techniques. This course is aimed for beginners of all ages (anyone under the age of 16 must be supervised by a guardian. Families are welcome). Learn how to make a mug, bowl or plate using hand-building techniques such as pinching, coils or slabs and decorate your piece by adding coloured slip. Students can expect to make 1-3 pieces. All pieces will be fired and glazed after the workshop.

You already work with clay, but you would like to surprise yourself while having fun? This workshop aims to push the basic techniques of wheel throwing and handbuilding to make more complex forms.Playing with the architecture of each sculptural vase, learn more advanced assembly techniques to bring each piece to the best possible result. Surprises await! Students will learn surface decoration treatments using coloured engobes, and will be welcomed back to the studio for a 3 hour open studio session to glaze their pieces. Prerequisite: one session of ceramics (wheel or hand-building etc.)
