Tissage I - Weaving I (Automne/Fall 2023)

This course is an introduction to weaving as a form of visual art-making. To begin, you will be guided through the building and setting up - warping - of a frame loom. During the course you will produce samplers using various colour mixing and joining techniques for both tapestry and cloth weaving. We will go through several ways to finish and finally display the weaving. Throughout the course you will be introduced to exciting weaving practices both historical and contemporary. For beginners.
