Initiation à l'appliqué et à la broderie - Intro to Appliqué and Embroidery (Printemps/Spring 2022)

With a focus on upcycling materials, you will be intro- duced to basic appliqué and embroidery techniques with the goal of building a wall-based textile landscape scene. Participants are invited to bring along old clothing and any scraps of fabric, yarn and plastics lying around at home. This course aims to explore the potential of recycling, transforming detritus into a cohesive image. For inspiration we will discuss colour, composition and texture while looking at historical and contemporary artwork employing these techniques. For beginners. Some materials included.
