Raphaël Biscotti’s work is inspired by anxiety and its creative potential. Through the slow, silent and demanding process of manual work, Biscotti depicts the feelings that the drawing allows him to evacuate. Care and empathy are at the core of Biscotti’s project, as gentleness radiates from his works. Biscotti creates a poetic and sensitive universe that destigmatizes and reimagines anxiety through the prisms of nature and domestic spaces.

Raphaël Biscotti is originally from Val-David, in the Upper Laurentians. He studied at Concordia University in Studio Arts where he had the opportunity to be an exchange student in Finland in the Arctic Arts and Design program for two semesters. In 2018, he graduated and began a Master’s degree in Visual and Media Arts at UQAM the following year. Raphaël finally completed his master’s degree last winter and will start his Ph.D. in January 2023.
