Ceramic Artist in Residence Program

From June 1 2013 through May 31 2014.

The Ceramic Artist in Residence Program at the Visual Arts Centre offers new artists the opportunity to develop their work, cooperate with other artists, and work in a community that shares their excitement about clay and the ceramic process.

The residency includes:
• Access to the clay studio including handbuilding space, an extruder, and 14 wheels.
• Four large electric kilns and a test kiln.
• Material development lab.
• Opportunities to share research.
• Possibility of exhibiting work created during the residency.
• Access to a group of ceramic artists with various approaches to clay work.
• 19 hours per week of paid work.
There is no fee for this residency, rather the Visual Arts Centre pays the resident to work as a technician. The Artist in Residence is responsible for the cost of materials used during the residency, including clay and raw materials.
